Alvaro Martinez loves the game of golf and he loves helping others play their best golf game ever. So he opened North Lode Golf to provide the finest handcrafted custom equipment for golfers throughout the area.

As a child, Alvaro was a “tinkerer”. When he bought his first set of clubs, he started tinkering with them as well, and before long he was deep in experimenting with the different performance characteristics he could achieve by changing variables in the clubs. For many years since, Alvaro continues to study the physics of the swing and the dynamics of clubhead designs and shaft profiles. When he studied fitting and how minor changes in a club setup could improve a golfer’s game in and eye-blink, he was sold. He is without a doubt the biggest equipment junkie in Aberdeen. And thus he turned his hobby into his profession.

Alvaro has chosen to work with KZG, the #1 Custom Proline in golf equipment as it is exclusive to, and designed specifically for, professionals who insist on many options of high performing heads and shafts to do a proper fitting. KZG’s wide spectrum of models assures that every golfer can be dialed in perfectly, regardless of their skill, strength, size and/or budget. And that includes Junior golfers as well.

And that is why Lee Vannet, PGA and Head Pro at the Craibstone Golf Studio works so closely with Alvaro. Lee was a European Tour Player and has gained an exceptional reputation as a coach and teacher. He also understands that his golfers must be dialed into the right golf equipment, and only then can they concentrate on improving their game. Fittings can be conducted at the Indoor Golf Studio at Craibstone which is outfitted with a Trackman launch monitor. The golfer will be able to test and compare the performance of a wide range of demos and Lee and Alvaro will be able to dial in the perfect combination of clubhead and shaft for each golfer. Alvaro will then handcraft each club to the exact specifications prescribed, a true tour build.
