The LDI Irons (Long Distance Irons) are the longest-hitting irons in our spectrum of iron models. For many golfers, the LDI Irons will make their game feel “young again!”

Key Features

  1. Forged Titanium Face Insert:
    • Superior Distance: The LDI Irons feature a forged titanium face insert designed to provide greater rebound. This results in superior distance, as the high-strength titanium face maximizes energy transfer at impact, helping golfers achieve longer shots with less effort.
  2. Deep Perimeter Weighting:
    • Maximum Forgiveness: The LDI Irons incorporate deep perimeter weighting, which redistributes weight around the edges of the clubhead. This design increases the moment of inertia (MOI), enhancing forgiveness on off-center hits. Golfers can enjoy more consistent distance and accuracy, even on mishits.
  3. Micro-Milled Face and Laser Cut Grooves:
    • Optimized Spin Rates: The micro-milled face coupled with laser cut grooves ensures optimal spin rates. This combination provides greater control over the ball, enhancing stopping power on the greens and allowing for more precise shot-making.
  4. Progressive Offset:
    • Maximized Launch Angles: The progressive offset design aids in maximizing launch angles, particularly in the longer irons. This feature helps golfers square the clubface more easily at impact, promoting higher, more consistent ball flights and reducing the tendency to slice.
  5. Low Center of Gravity:
    • High Trajectory: The low center of gravity (CG) in the LDI Irons ensures a high trajectory, making it easier to achieve higher ball flights. This design is particularly beneficial for golfers seeking to maximize carry distance and land the ball softly on the greens.
  6. Wide Sole:
    • Improved Stability: The wide sole design aids in stability, reducing the risk of digging into the turf and promoting smoother swings. This feature enhances playability from various lies and conditions.

Performance Benefits

  • Enhanced Distance and Control: The forged titanium face insert and optimized spin rates ensure that golfers can achieve greater distance while maintaining control over their shots.
  • Increased Forgiveness: The deep perimeter weighting and progressive offset design provide maximum forgiveness, helping golfers achieve consistent performance even on off-center hits.
  • High Launch and Stability: The low CG and wide sole design promote a high launch angle and improved stability, making it easier for golfers to achieve clean contact and optimal ball flights.

Custom Fit for Optimal Performance

When LDI irons are fit and built to each golfer’s unique swing, the golfer will experience an appreciable improvement in their game. The customization options ensure that each club is tailored to the golfer’s specific needs, maximizing performance.

Versatile Configuration Options

As with all KZG irons, the LDI Irons can be purchased in any configuration, making them ideal for combinations with hybrids. This versatility allows golfers to create a set that perfectly suits their playing style and preferences.

Conclusion

The LDI Irons are designed to deliver exceptional distance and forgiveness, making them ideal for golfers seeking to rejuvenate their game. With advanced features such as a forged titanium face insert, deep perimeter weighting, micro-milled face, laser cut grooves, progressive offset, low center of gravity, and a wide sole, these irons provide superior performance and playability. Custom fitting and versatile configuration options further enhance the appeal of the LDI Irons, ensuring that every golfer can achieve their best game.

What others are saying...

As I'm approaching the age of 60, I am coming to the realization I have lost 10 to 15 yards with my irons, not to mention the rest of my clubs. I tried the LDI during my club fitting session and couldn't believe I had found my old distance again. This is a forgiving iron as my mishits seem to get distance too. I highly suggest the LDI to others that are looking for distance and forgiveness.

As a KZG dealer I have found the LDI to be an excellent fit for many golfers. In fact, most of my LDI sales have been to pretty good golfers.

Don Irving - Artisan Golf Ottawa, Ontario

In a recent fitting, my customer tested the KZG LDI, Tour Edge Hot Launch HL and Taylor Made M4 irons. After testing these heads the KZG LDI irons proved to be more accurate, the ball speed faster and the smash factor higher… with an incredible 15 yards greater distance than the other heads!

“I aced #9 at White Sands … about 150 yards, back right pin. Took a choked down soft swing with a fair wind behind me. Tried to hit the front third of the green and feed it back. Hit and rolled 20 feet or so. I aimed for the right centre and luckily I blocked the shot a bit! Thank you Don of Artison Golf, for fitting me into KZG clubs.

Jim Wilson, Ottawa, Canada

I have owned a KZG iron since the early 90s. It’s the Forged series iron, and they were the best iron set I’ve had. However, I was lured away by Honma about 5 years ago and I was using their TW series irons. I was looking for a new set of irons this year. I went and tried the new Honma set. They were good, but yet again feels off the rack. I decided to go back to KZG, and found Phil Moore at The Nest at Goose Creek GC. A Certified KZG fitter. I am always drawn to a thinner top line irons, so I tried the forged irons. They are good, but Phil ask me to try the LDI irons because they are more forgiving. He was right. Dispersions were tighter and ball flights were much higher. I also got all 4 wedges (PW-LW). I’ve never seen my wedge shot went that high in the air. I was so glad that I came back to KZG, and I’m shooting to lower my handicap. Pretty sure it won’t be too much problem with this perfectly fitted iron set. Thank you KZG, and thank you Phil.

Wow ... the ball jumps off the face of the LDI Irons. Was very surprised how soft it felt ... this is exciting!
